Кафедра хірургії є структурним підрозділом ННЦ «Інститут біології та медицини» та створена 2019 року (наказ про створення кафедри № 348-32 від 09 вересня 2019 р.).
Науково-педагогічними працівниками кафедри розроблені та впроваджені робочі програми навчальних дисциплін для викладання обов’язкових та вибіркових компонентів навчальних дисциплін студентам за спеціальностями 222 «Медицина», 224 «Технології медичної діагностики та лікування» та 222 «Medicine».
Кафедра хірургії – клінічна кафедра ННЦ «Інститут біології та медицини» КНУ імені Тараса Шевченка, проводить науково-педагогічну роботу з студентами а також виконання лікувально-діагностичної роботи для забезпечення освітнього процесу, підготовки, перепідготовки і підвищення кваліфікації медичних кадрів, спільної лікувально-діагностичної діяльності із закладами охорони здоров’я всіх форм власності, розробки і впровадження в практику охорони здоров’я передових медичних технологій профілактики, діагностики, лікування захворювань та реабілітації пацієнтів. Лікувально-діагностична робота здійснюється науково-педагогічними працівниками на клінічній базі, що є закладом охорони здоров’я, в якому поєднуються освіта, наука та практична охорона здоров’я для населення, а також у інших закладах охорони здоров’я.

Співпраця
Кафедра хірургії має активні спільні проєкти з Національною академією медичних наук України, хірургічними підрозділами Командування медичних сил Збройних сил України. Активно розвиваються мультидисциплінарні проєкти та комплексування з кафедрами ННЦ «Інститут біології та медицини» КНУ.
Громадська робота
Науково-педагогічні працівники кафедри розвивають на надають волонтерську допомогу підрозділам Збройних Сил України в тилу та на фронті.
Activities
The Department of Surgery is a structural subdivision of the NSC "Institute of Biology and Medicine" and was established in 2019 (order on the establishment of the department No. 348-32 dated September 09, 2019).
The scientific and pedagogical staff of the department has developed and implemented work programs of academic disciplines for teaching mandatory and elective components of academic disciplines to students in the specialties 222 "Medicine", 224 "Technologies of Medical Diagnosis and Treatment" and 222 "Medicine".
The Department of Surgery is a clinical department of the NSC "Institute of Biology and Medicine" of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, conducts scientific and pedagogical work with students, as well as performs medical and diagnostic work to ensure the educational process, training, retraining and advanced training of medical personnel, joint medical and diagnostic activities with health care institutions of all forms of ownership, development and implementation of advanced medical technologies for prevention, diagnosis, treatment of diseases and rehabilitation of patients. Treatment and diagnostic work is carried out by scientific and pedagogical workers on a clinical basis, which is a health care institution, which combines education, science and practical health care for the population, as well as in other health care institutions.

Cooperation
The Department of Surgery has active joint projects with the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, surgical units of the Command of the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Multidisciplinary projects and integration with the departments of the NSC "Institute of Biology and Medicine" of KNU are actively developing.
Community service
Scientific and pedagogical staff of the department develop and provide volunteer assistance to units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the rear and at the front.
