26 квітня 2023 року (середа) о 16:00 в ННЦ «Інститут біології та медицини» в рамках освітньо-наукового проєкту «Освіта та наука без кордонів» та реалізації освітньої діяльності за Освітньо-професійними програмами «Біологія» та «Медицина», за запрошенням кафедри цитології, гістології та репродуктивної медицини буде проведена відкрита лекція Dr. Oksana Berezovska, PhD Research Professor of Neurology, Director of the Neurobiology of Alzheimer’s Disease laboratory, Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital, MassGeneral Institute for Neurodegenerative Diseases (MIND), Boston, USA
Тема лекції: «Cellular and molecular factors in Alzheimer’s disease pathology, new therapeutic approaches, and building a resilience»
Dr. Berezovska graduated from Kyiv National University, Department of Cytology and Histology; and obtained her PhD in Neurosciences at the Bogomoletz Institute of Physiology, Kyiv, Ukraine. Currently, she is Associate (Research) Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School and leads the Neurobiology of Alzheimer’s Disease laboratory at MassGeneral Hospital/MIND, Boston, USA. Dr. Berezovska’ laboratory focuses primarily on the cellular and molecular events underlying neuropathological changes in Alzheimer’s disease. Her group combines conventional bio/histochemistry and state-of-the-art molecular imaging approaches, such as Spectral FRET and Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging Microscopy, to monitor conformational changes of a single molecule or molecular complexes, and to untangle the chain of events leading to neurodegeneration. The main emphasis is on Presenilin1 (PS1)/gamma-secretase, and its interactions with a variety of proteins in intact and/or live cells. The ultimate goal of Dr. Oksana Berezovska's research is to discover new therapeutic targets and to develop new strategies to halt Alzheimer’s disease progression.
